Rubik's cube of death - finished!

I did it! I solved the Rubik's mirror cube without loosing my sanity! After I finished it, my brain was really spent! hahahha. Of course, I needed some guide since its a long time ago when I can solve a normal cube. I forgot the sequences. But the guide I used is with a normal cube (with colors and all). So yeah, imagination and logic is what I used here.

As a reward, I got large french fries and the heavenly good hot fudge from RJ (the one who gave me this). So yeah, it was (kind of) worth solving it. I lent it to him to solve it. Now who's suffering headaches now? HOHOHO!!

Rubik's cube of death - the beginning

The rubik's headache-inducer destruction and death cube, commonly known as "rubik's mirror cube".

My good friend from office gave me this as a Christmas gift. And here's the reason why: he lost a bet of solving a "brain twister" puzzle figure where the prize is a hot fudge sundae. Since then, I've been harassing him to buy me hot fudges whenever I can.

And I think he knows I'm OC. I just can't put this down until it wears me out. A revenge in disguise as a gift. Nice play Rocel Jan, nice play.

Viddy for Android is available on Google Play!

12/12/12

After insistent public demand from Android users, Viddy for Android is finally here. You can download it on Google Play. Just search for "Viddy". Don't be fooled with the first search result "Viddy Preview App". It's not the real Viddy. Click on the second search result:

or just go to this link:
http://tinyurl.com/d2g9ncz

Note: The Viddy on Android is only compatible with Android 4.0+ devices (running Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean).

Why Viddy is good:
  • It's like Instagram for videos.
  • It's the next 140-character tweet, but for videos.
  • Good for short vlogs.
  • Awesome community.
  • Good customer support.

And for the people who are complaining why Viddy only allows 15-seconds per video upload, it's like this:
  • It's like you're complaining why Twitter only has 140 characters per tweet.
  • Viddy is only for videos that are caught "in the moment". Moments don't last for 2 minutes.
  • It's good for video browsing or "Viddy" browsing.
  • It makes people creative and think how they can squeeze their videos into 15 seconds.
  • Face it, people have short attention spans. Even you wouldn't watch someone ranting for 2 minutes. A 15-second rant is may be acceptable and "watchable".
  • Plus, you can do so much within 15 seconds. Think "tv commercials".

Have you downloaded it already? Let me know what you think about Viddy.

Hassle ang Justice bruh!!

It's funny how our justice system works today. Ang nakakalungkot pa, its the norm at tanggap na siya ng society. Here's the conversation I had with my friends on FB when I need some advice. Sorry for the quality of image. Hassle eh.

I don't know what to think anymore. I think I will go for areglo 'cause that's the "non-hassle" thing to do right now. Hayaan na nating mag-drive ulit si manong kahit matanda na at di na sana makabangga ng iba.

Symphony of Lights and Sounds - Ayala Triangle Makati

November 22, 2013

It's Thanksgiving holiday last week in America and luckily, I get to feel the same long weekend as Americans had. My account at my work is American-based so, that's it. Tee-hee.

I want to make sure I maximize my long weekend by being productive and do the things I haven't done for a while. And since I haven't seen the "Christmas Lights and Sounds" show and display in Ayala Triangle that I have been hearing about, I decided I should go and see it. Good thing my boyfriend works at Ayala Tower 1, just beside Ayala Triangle so it's a win-win: I get to see him and I get to see the Christmas display.

I live in Cavite province so I traveled for 2 hours just to get to the bustling city of Makati where Ayala Triangle is. But when I saw the Lights and Sounds Christmas show, the travel was worth it.

How to get there from Cavite:

Strange images of Mary

Note: Do not, I repeat, do not take this seriously.

One day, me and my boyfriend's two sisters and their daughters decided to stroll around Mall of Asia to forget our bitterness and try to amuse ourselves. We were just derping around when we walked by this exhibition of "statues of Mary".

I am really fascinated with Catholic's depictions of "Mama Mary". I don't know how they got these varying images of Mary and their "titles" but I enjoy looking how intricate their wardrobes are and how large they can get. I just don't like how they stare at me specially if they are life sized. I also don't like the combined smell of incense, flowers that are starting to wilt and fragrance that you usually smell on any Catholic statues. It really makes me feel dizzy.

So we entered the exhibit just out of curiosity. And to my surprise, the Mary images are not the images I normally see. Here's for one:

"Immaculada Concepcion de Malabon"

If I didn't say it's a statue of Mary, I'm sure you'll think it's a statue of a Hindu goddess. I mean, why not? With how she hold her hands to pray, how the wind blows on her clothes, her hair, her skin color, her eyes, facial features... dangling earrings?? Definitely not a typical Mary.

Here's another one Hindu goddess-like image of Mary.

Here's "Our Lady of Piat". I don't know why I took this picture. It must be because she's dark skinned, contrast of the milky white oh-so-perfect complexion of a typical Mary image. I wonder what they were holding.

Another dark-skinned Mary. I love her hand-painted dress.

HUGE Mother and Child Image. With all of its grandeur and gold ensembles, no wonder it has its own place in the exhibit. I also noticed how popular gold is to Mary statues. Why is that? To depict royalty? Holiness?

I don't know. When I saw this statue, I just remembered Emma Stone's infamous wardrobe on her movie "Easy A". NOT that I'm comparing the statue to the character of the movie. Just NO.

And here's another one peculiar sight of the exhibit: A Chinese Mary and Jesus! Tell me why?

The painting is called "Empress of China". It is nowhere near the typical image of Mary and baby Jesus. I wonder why would someone paint this? Is it to get the empathy of the Chinese people? Or maybe the painter is Chinese? I had no time to read the descriptions of the painting 'cause the people with me are not interested as much as I am and are on their way out of the exhibit. One thing is for sure, the painter got my attention.

and the most ... surprisingly... unexpected sight.
A nursing Mary.

I commend the artisan who built this statue of Mary. It is closest to reality that Mary may indeed nursed Jesus when He was still a baby (not with the garbs they wear here of course). But this is really ... unexpected.

Anyway, we were given donation envelopes before we entered the exhibit. I ended up not giving anything. They had a good exhibit in Mall of Asia complete with flower decorations, lighting arrangement, perfumes and fragrant oils put on the statues. I thought, hey, if they have the means to do all these, why do they still need donations? So I gave the empty envelop back to the expecting old lady waiting at the exit. I didn't looked at her and walked straight to my friends, avoiding the old lady's disappointed face.

Sungha Jung - Asian Level 9000

So I was like having a playlist exchange with a friend of mine. We exchanged songs that would keep us awake (I was at work when we're doing this - graveyard shift) and at the same time, something that would relax us.

I gave him So Close by Jon Mclaughlin (I still got the hang over of Enchanted). He gave me some Maroon 5 songs and Taylor Swift.

It was a normal song exchange. Until he sent me something... something... amazing.

Sungha Jung

The first I heard his rendition of Thousand Years by Christina Perri, I am totally swooned. It felt like he played the guitar for me. Almost courting. But I know it's ridiculous because, well, sheeesh, I know right? But that's what I felt.

It only took 2 videos to watch. Now, I'm blogging about him. That's how good he is. Should I write about him more? Nah. I'm not done watching his videos. And you should start watching too.

Ouran Host Club live action movie casting

WARNING: I'll be ranting senseless.

So, I just recently discovered that there's an Ouran Host Club Live Action Movie that was showed in Japan. I am really fond of the manga series and read it over 2 years ago. If you haven't read the manga or at least watched the anime, I suggest you give it a try. The story is really funny and light. I was so excited and checked out the casts... and left me dismayed T_T

Anyway, here's their cast for the live action movie:

from upper left > Kyoya - Takashi - Mitsukuni - Hikaru - Kaoru - forgot the hooded one - (sitting) Haruhi - Tamaki

And here's the original anime version of Ouran Host Club:

from behind the couch > Takashi- Kaoru - Kyoya - Hikaru - Tamaki (on couch) - Mitsukuni - Hikaru

Okay.

First off, I haven't seen the movie. But judging on their pictures and video clips, I knew that the actor for Kyoya is perfect (portrayed by Shunsuke Daito). Very spot on. Takashi is good (portrayed by Masaya Nakamura). Haruhi is okay (portrayed by Haruna Kawaguchi). Mitsukuni is... okayyyy, but can be better (portrayed by Yudai Chiba). They should have used a 14-year-old who can act well.

Here's the part where I really have a problem: Kaoru and Hikaru (portrayed by Manpei Takagi and Shinpei Takagi). Okay. Maybe it really is hard to get actors that looked alike but... but... it really doesn't make any justice to the character. AND! The gorgeous Tamaki (portrayed by Yusuke Yamamoto)! It would have made sense if they cast Shirota Yuu for Tamaki since they are both half Asian-half westerner.

I KNOW RIGHT?? RIGHT?? RIGHT???? You melt right away, right?

I'm old for this but my squealing and giggling hasn't died down after 2 years since I last saw him. Just look at him. Isn't he the perfect Tamaki?? No one can deny that. How can they miss this?

Just imagine how Kyoya and Tamaki will face off for Haruhi if Shirota Yuu has Tamaki's role:

Tamaki versus Kyoya

OH HOT HOT HOT!!

I'm so sorry. I lost my will to write everything I thought about the live action series. I'm really overwhelmed with emotions right now just by looking at them. Excuse me while I end my blog entry here. I can't concentrate right now. It's impossible to contain my squealing... it's just... squeeeee!! :3

Google Art: Bram Stoker’s 165th birthday

Saw this on Google today.
So, it’s Bram Stoker’s 165th birthday; the one responsible for romanticizing goths and bringing Dracula for the world to fantasize about.
If I am Stephenie Meyer, I would give him some tribute too.

No Cost at All Halloween Costume

I'm broke. So I dressed up appropriately for this year's Halloween party at our office:

A HIPPIE!!

What you will need:
  • Psychedelic or Aztec long sleeved blouse. Good thing I have this in my closet. You can borrow from your aunt if you don't have one.
  • Ray Ban sunglasses. My late grandfather gave it to my dad. If you don't have one, an over-sized shades will do.
  • Headband. Mine was an Usamimi headband. I just tied the knot behind my head. Usamimi headband is light and has wire inside so it stays in place. It doesn't leave marks on your forehead too unlike other headbands. A simple lace is a good alternative.
  • Quirky accessories. Should I emphasize BEADS?? Lots of it. Wooden beads I prefer. I got my bead necklace from my mom. I'm rockin' the "STYLE ICON" necklace from my sister. Goes very well with my getup.
  • Messy hair. Everyday is a bad hair day for me so no effort on this one.
  • Peace sign. The most important of all. Hippies are all about peace. Google "hippie" and see the images that will come up.

Last year, I dressed up as a pirate. Sexy pirate. With booties and all:

The samurai is a makeshift from a curtain rod. I made it for my Shakugan no Shana cosplay. Maybe I'll post some of my cosplays here on my blog one day. The booties, the plaid skirt and the blouse are all from a thrift shop. Not bad, eh?

Our group’s theme last year was crew pirates. See the lady far on right? She’s portraying the witch Tia Dalma from the Pirates of the Caribbean. She made her costume out from curtains! Ingenious and resourceful. It’s a shame she didn’t win any award. And the lady beside me, she’s a mermaid literally without a top on. The boys in our office are ecstatic. She won the costume contest for her “realistic” portrayal. The man on my left won second place. Can you spot Luffy from One Piece?

'Cause I Can

One night, when I just got out of our house to go to work...

"Bakit yung look niya... (realized I'm still close to hear her, she paused) ... yung look niya, pambata?"

Well, simple lang ang sagot diyan. It's because I can.

I can dress like a teenager today and dress like an adult tomorrow. I can wear sneakers then heels the other day. All because I can.

Palibhasa kasi siya, she can dress like a teenager but still look like an adult. Haha. Nosy neighbor.

Viddy for Android (beta)

Thanks Viddy. I felt special :P

Well, I got an e-mail saying that I am one of an exclusive group that's getting Viddy for Android first. But luck has it that I'm somewhere far away from my Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray for the moment but still, I'm excited to try this out. I'll update my blog once I get my hands on this Viddy for Android.

e-mail from android(at)viddy.com

UPDATED 10/31/2012:

So, what I learned from downloading Viddy on Android is it's in private beta and is only available on Android 4.0+ (Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean). It's a sad news for people with lower versions of Android.

I finally downloaded it and I must say it needs a lot of improvement as expected from a beta. It always crashes when I attempted to put tags on the video. What I did is I just uploaded it straight after I put the title and description. But after several attempts, the uploading process freezes and then fails after several minutes. I haven't had a single video uploaded successfully. I'll give it another try whenever I get the chance :)

I hope this goes well.

Luna Blanca bids Goodbye... and I hope their cliche lovin' writers too.

Note: This is only a personal point of view. Please do not take it seriously.

I've been wanting to write about this for a long time. There's something about GMA 7's latest teleseryes.... what shall I call it? I'll be ranting:

  • Not competitive.
  • Unimaginative.
  • Doesn't have a solid storyline.
  • Irresponsible?

Ang huling naaalala kong matinong teleserye nila is "Amaya" casting Marian Rivera, and that was last year (2011). Buti pa yung Amaya may pagka-original pero di parin naiwasan and tunay na ina at nawawalang anak plot. And another teleserye of GMA that I want to commend is "Encantadia" (2005). I really enjoyed that show. I enjoyed the story (even though the pacing is kind of slow), their costumes, fictional language (pashnea, sanggre. Ring a bell?) and their characters. Kids and adults love them. But other than that, wala na akong maalalang ibang shows na talagang nag-enjoy ako.

So, after this, sa tingin ko nakita ng GMA na patok ang "fantaserye" sa mga tao. So sinunod-sunod na nila ito (Kamandag, Zorro, Captain Barbel... teka, puro Richard Gutierrez to ah). They were all so-so. Until the recent programs they launched: Luna Blanca, Machete (Naaawa ako sa program na to. Tinapos agad), Iglot... The list goes.

ABS-CBN 2 made the smart move. They left "fantaserye" genre to GMA 7 and moved back to basics of TV soap drama (Mara Clara remake, Tayong Dalawa) and light drama (My Binondo Girl, Be Careful With My Heart).

Okay. So ano ba talaga ang problema ng GMA 7? I'll bullet point it all to get to the point:

  • ehem, they lack fresh writers. Unang una ito sa listahan ko. Hulaan niyo kung bakit.
  • Talents of GMA 7 are okay (the actors and actresses). But then, nasasayang lang dahil sa pangit na program na pinagbidahan nila. As in sayang talaga. Nasa kanila si Camille Prats, Heart Evangelista, Christopher de Leon... omg. Christopher de Leon! What have you done to him? He's Christopher de Leon! Tapos you casted him on an action fantaserye?? And his costume on that program screams of cheap! Oh gosh. Just... come on. Feeling ko nawalan siya ng dignidad doon... (sigh). Anyway, bakit ba may pangit na programa? It all comes down to the root of the problem: lack of fresh writers.
  • Overuse of top talents. GMA 7, learn from ABS-CBN (di ako fan ng channel 2 pero I have to say this). Stop using Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes and Richard Gutierrez on your prime time shows. Nakakasawa. Parang masarap na pagkain na kapag laging kinakain, mauumay ka. Let the people miss their presence. Give chance to your other talents. Ang dami kong nakikitang talents ng GMA 7 na may potential, nababaliwala lang. But then again, what makes a talent shine? A good program to cast on. Hence, lack of fresh talented writers.
Clarity Clarence... Now I know. Ngayon ko lang napagtanto. Kaya pala mas madaming commercials ang mga talents ng ABS CBN kasi sikat sila enough to be endorsers pero di sila overexposed sa TV. It gives them fresh exposures whenever their commercial is on air. Sample is Kim Atienza. While sa GMA 7, ang mga sikat nilang talents ay overexposed at overused sa airtime ng GMA 7 at ang mga ibang talents are not popular enough to be endorsers. Sample is Sam Pinto. Bubble Gang lang ang program niya pero madami siyang commercials. Why? She doesn't have too much airtime (meaning di magsasawa ang tao sa kanya pag nakita siya araw araw sa isang commercial). She's fresh and popular enough to be an endorser. Di ko alam ha. Nagegets nyo ba theory ko? Haha. Moving on...

  • Lack of solid storyline. Ang feeling ko, kapag nagkaroon ata ng "idea" for a story ang GMA 7, they just go for it. Pahahabain nalang nila. Babatuhan nalang nila ng plot na "nawawalang anak", "tunay na ina", "overly attached psychotic girl sa bidang lalake" etc. You know the cliche plots GMA 7 has been putting up to. Bakit may ganito? Saan galing ang dilemmang ito? Alam na. Lack of fresh writers.
  • Fresh. Talented. Writers. Na-emphasize ko ba? Isama niyo na yung producers.

Okay. I sound like a showbiz columnist now. Di ako professional writer para husgahan ang mga writers ng GMA teleseryes. I'm saying this from a viewer's standpoint. Matagal ko na ito gustong i-point out. They really need a revamp on their showbiz programs. It's reeking of old-style business. Now that I have vented it, I'll just see how it goes for GMA 7.

Goodbye Luna Blanca! I at least watched some of your episodes and I just want to say, cute yung aso pero isunod niyo na yung "Aso ni San Roque".

Pagsamantalahan Mo Ako...

"Pagsamantalahan Mo Ako.."

Masarap pakinggan.. Mas lalo nang masarap gawin. Kapana-panabik.

Mas lalo na kapag nanggaling sa babae na iyong minamahal, ang iyong ina.. Wait. What??

This is our haul from the shopping and we're not even done yet:

Pero dito ako bumawi, sa pagkain. Presenting... not much. I reserved from eating kasi tight yung suot ko. haha. Such blessings :)

Lasagna w/ garlic bread, pepperoni pizza, cheese french fries and tomato dip from Greenwich

The only things worth seeing on SM Bacoor when its on sale are the shoes and bags section. I don't know. They don't put too much sale on the clothes section for ladies except on the kid's area. I dont know about the men's area. We also bought clothes as a gift for our loved ones this Christmas. Tipid eh. Here are the pictures worth posting...

This doll shoes is cute but they dont have the size that will fit me :(

I got the black and white shoes for 300 pesos. Really cute <3

This dress is really cute but I didnt get it. Di ko naman kasi siya lagi magagamit. Its not casual enough. Sayang, sana at least sinukat ko.

This dress for kids are adorable. If they had it on my size, I would have bought it :P

"I love you, my darling"

I saw this blouse and when I put it on, I knew I have to have it. Its too cute to resist. I love the cut at the back of it too.

We got home after 3 in the afternoon. Its really exhausting. We got there almost 11 a.m. People are packed and its hard to move around with all the items you've bought. Wala din kaming sasakyan kaya commute lang. Pero rewarding. Hehehhe. I must say that our Christmas shopping came early. Thank God for that 'cause it means we're blessed financially.

First Entry: Time Waits for No One

First of all, congrats sakin dahil nasimulan ko ulit gumawa ng blog at ito ang aking first entry :) After 5 years, ngayon nalang ulit ako sinipag. Ang mga last kong blog entries ay nagawa ko pa noong Friendster era. Naisip ko lang i-pursue ulit ito dahil feeling ko I'm racing against time and making a blog about my experiences and thoughts is a way to appreciate and record what life has offered me.

Hence, my blog title Time Waits For No One

This blog will be a reminder for myself that time flies and I should always seize the day. I shouldn't waste opportunities. In other words.. YOLO (you only live once). No, no! Di ako swagger. Not like yell YOLO and do something stupid. YOLO to the truer and wiser sense of it. You only live once so you better use it wisely.

Ahhh... Okay. Tama na yan. I'm not here to do a sermon about life whatsoever. I just wanna blog. The first time I saw the phrase Time Waits For No One is not from the Rolling Stones but from the Japanese anime Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Very interesting movie, you should watch it. Here's a fan-made AMV.

Anyway, ano pa bang ginagawa mo? Bakit mo pa binabasa to? Wala ka bang ibang importanteng dapat gawin? Hahhaha.. Remember:

Time Waits for No One.
